Shibuichi

Shibuichi is an ancient Japanese alloy. The word shibuichi means one quarter. This refers to the 25% silver to 75% copper ratio of metals. It was historically used for the hand guard of samurai swords. After it was outlawed it was used for beads and other functional items. It is very durable. This alloy is available in two finished, shiny and patinaed. Shiny Shibuichi resembles rose gold. Shibuichi with a patina can vary in color from a reddish brown to a deep coffee bean brown with a silver glazed appearance.
